Happy Holidays

We spent Christmas this year with both mine and Shanes families. How exciting that was for us. We were in Portland for a few days with my family, celebrated Christmas Eve and had a wonderful, yummy dinner. Then on Christmas we drove over to Yakima, WA to be with Shane's family. His parents were with his sister for the holidays. We couldn't have ask for a better Christmas to be with loved ones. For New Years we spent it with some friends playing games. Shane and I made it home just before mid-night to watch the ball drop on TV, a new years eve kiss then off to bed. Kind of sad, we are now what you call old people. Going to bed early on New Years Eve. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. We love and miss you and bless you where ever you may be.

Today Jack celebrated his 2nd birthday with a yummy treat from Ceaser, beef nuggets, a new birthday hat and a purple stuffed dog that was destroyed in 5 min. We are grateful everyday for Jack, he keeps us on our toes and helps us remember how much he loves to pay ball. I never thought I would fall in love with a dog and you might call me crazy, but I have, I'm in love with my sweet little guy. Happy Birthday Jack ;)

My Fathers Birthday

Yesterday was my fathers birthday. All week I have been thinking about him. I was emotional in the beginning of the week, but I got better as the days went by getting closer to his birthday, I really think my father was close helping me be strong. On Tuesday I went to see a doctor, I told her how over this past year I have been very stressed due to loosing my father at the beginning of the year and started to cry, but then I clentched my teeth and told myself not to loose it in the doctors office. The rest of the week went better. On Saturday I took my dog Jack for a walk and enjoyed the beautiful weather and thought of my dad the whole walk. Everything around me reminds me of him, the sky, green grass, the sound of a law mower and the nice cool breeze. I felt him close. I held it together pretty well and again almost lost it just after sacrament meeting I leaned over to Shane and wispered to him, it's my fathers birthday today and leaned back and said I know, for a split second I thought I was going to burst into tears, but I did good. I then celebrated the day relaxing on the sofa with 4 hours of Sister Wives. It's not really how I wanted to celebrate my fathers birthday, but I think he would have wanted me to celebrate the day just how I did. Just being me and enjoying life. How hard the last 9 or so months have been with him gone, but I know I only get stronger each day and I continue to remember him in all the little things I do. What an amazing man he was and continues to be. I see him every time I look at my brothers and my nephews. He is there in each one of us. My sisters, my neices, in me and my mother. He continues to live in me and that brings me joy knowing he is closer then I think. Still to this day when I think about his life, his illness and his death, it hits me each time like a ton of bricks. I still hurt, but I know one day we will see him again. I wrote in a birthday card for him once when I was alittle girl, I love you dad, you're the best dad I ever had. He laughed and his reply was, what other dads have you had. I continued to write that phrase, but added a P.S. in every birthday card up unitl last year. You really are the best dad I ever had. Love you Dad and Happy Birthday.

Summer Comes To An End

We went camping with the Hirschi's over Labor Day weekend at Honeyman campground outside of Florance, Oregon. It was so beautiful, clear sky, nice weather, loved the town of Florance and I am officially calling this my new favorite place to vacation. The day we got to Florance Paige and Dave suggested a dune buggy ride, the fast buggy not the slow. Shane wasn't able to go because we had Jack. Oh, my!! What a ride!! It was a half hour of what felt like a crazy rollar coaster, but better! I can not explain it, you must go and see for yourself. Loved every moment of it and we are already planning on going back next year. Miles and Miles of dunes. Great fun!!

Summer Continues at Indian Mary

Shane and I went camping with our friends from work, Sandy and Tanya and Tanya's husband Devin at Indian Mary Park about 45 min from Grants Pass, on the Rogue River.

Harris Beach

We had a nice get-a-way weekend for Father's Day at Harris Beach in Brookings, Oregon. It was our first time to Harris Beach, a little windy, but very beautiful, peaceful and quiet.

This is my first Father's Day without my father. Part of a our camping trip adventure was in celebration of my father, in memory of him, he had such a great love for the outdoors. On our way back to Grants Pass we stoped off at the Smith River and I had a moment of peace and let some yellow flowers float down the river. It was my way of saying Happy Father's Day to a great father. I miss my dad so much it still doesn't feel real that he is gone. I love you dad.

Also want to say Happy Father's Day to a great Father in-law. Thanks Harold for all that you do. We love you.

Jacks Static Hair.

On Sunday The Bonella's took a drive to Ashland, Oregon. It's about 45 min south of Grants Pass. A fun touristy town with lots of cute shops, restaurants, "Ashland Springs Hotel" which I absolutely love and want to spend a weekend get-away there sometime and it's pet friendly. http://www.ashlandspringshotel.com/ Ashland is also the home of the "Shakespeare Festival". It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed our time as a family.

Jacks Anniversary

One year ago on January 29th, Jackson Bomont came to live with us. I just happen to be driving through the Wal-mart parking lot when my eyes were caught by this furry, little puppy. He has been the best addition to our family. He is the noddiest little thing, but at the end of the day we still love him. Jack got to celebrate his anniersary by sitting in the passinger seat of the car while driving home from Medford and his mama was in the very back, I mean not just the back seat but the back of the back seat, laying down and holding a TV for 45 min. I'm glad Jack got to celebrate in Style. Love you Tinker Winker!

Always Remembered

On December 31st, my father, John Lynn Holwege at 62 years of age, passed away peacefully with my mother and brother by his side. The world has lost a wonderful man, my family has lost an amazing father and grandfather. He will be missed deeply. With our memories he will live on forever. Last week was a really hard week as my family laid him to rest, his graveside ceremony was very impressive, one I will never forget and he deserves every bit of it. On Saturday, January 8, over 500 people arrived at his memorial to show their support, friendship and love. My father was truly a great man. He has taught me more about life then anyone. Because of him I want to be a better person, I want to be non judgemental, a hard worker, a better wife, fulfill my duties in the church by providing service to those in need, I want to enjoy life and all the little things that we all seem to ignore. When I think about him passing away it's hard to believe and it doesn't seem real. I'll always remember him each and every day as I feel him close, watching over my family. Today a friend at work gave me a special keepsake ornament. On the back of the box it reads, memories remind us that we have loved and been loved... that our lives were touched by someone very special. The ornament is a white sea shell with a shinny pearl in it and on the ornament it says, "Every life leaves something beautiful behind". My fathers life was a wonderful life cut short and he did leave something beautiful behind, he left a legacy of a great family, who loves and supports one another. I will forever remember my dad, he is the best.

My Father

Some of you know and many of you don't know that my father is battleing a rare, slient, but deadly cancer called Cholangiocarcinoma (cancer in the bile duct). He has been battleing it for some time now, but only found out last July and that he is in stage 4. With the last few months being hard for my family, my mother and specially my father who fights each day to gain the strength he needs to continue to live each moment with his grandchildren, his children and the my mother the love of his life, who has devoted her life to my father and would do anything for him. It's hard to see my father in this condition and to hear him on the phone when I speak to him I wonder, is this the last time I will hear his voice or tell him I love him. I pray to my Heavenly Father to allow him more time to be with his family, to enjoy life, to enjoy the beauty of the world that our Heavenly Father has created. It's been a battle with ups and downs, good moments and bad moments, keeping the faith and then having moments where I am so angry and wonder how this could happen to my father who has done nothing to deserve this. But then I am reminded that things happen to us for a reason, we have to trust in the Lord and know this is happening to my father for a reason and know someday we will learn the truth of why my father has to go through so much. I love my father, he is a kind, loving, gentle, respectful father. He is a wonderful husband to my mother, a wonderful father and grandfather. I have always looked up to him for his talents, his knowledge and love for life. His compassion for others, specially those who are have been mistreated in the world, my father has always been there for whom ever needed a friend or extra love. He is a hard working man that has worked so hard throughout his life to provide for a large family of 8. I can remeber sitting in church as a child and holding is hands and looking at the dry cracked skin and calises on his hands and now as I am older I realize that was from working so hard. My father is amazing at everything he does, from painting, drawing, woodworking, writing stories and poams or simply clipping the branches from a tree in the backyard and making a wreath for me to hang in my home. I want my father to know that I love him and will forever be greatful for the loving father he is and greatful that Heavenly Father sent me to live with him and I am so proud to be his daughter. When I was young I once gave my dad a fathers day card and inside I wrote, "To the Best Dad I ever had", as he read it he was laughing and said what other fathers have you had. I think now and laugh at what I wrote, but I have no others just you, my dad and you really are the best. My heart is aching and hopeing that my dad will recover and life will be back to normal, but I don't think that is in the Lords plan. But I hope in Heaven and pray that when it is time for my father to return that he will be welcomed by those that have passed on and won't be alone. I pray that my father will enjoy the beauty there and have all the trees in the world to trim, beautiful lawns to mow and edge, a big white wall to paint and draw on when ever he wants, and most of all will have the choice to be with us when ever he wants, so he can continue to see us and watch his grandchildren and future grandchildren grow. Please pray for my dad, if you know him or don't know him he needs all of your prays. I love you dad.

Jacks Crazy Haircut

I discovered Jack had a few ratties in his hair and was due for a haircut, but I didn't know how bad it was until I saw Jack after his hair cut, I just wanted to cry. He looked like we had been starving him for months and his ears were so short they looked like he had girl pony tails. but it's only hair and thank goodness it grows. He is looking much batter now and back to his normal self. I guess that teaches lesson that I need to brush his hair more often.

My parents were here 4th of July weekend. My mom and Dad and I did a little shopping down town, hit the Farmers Market and then back home to meet up with Shane for a BBQ. We also relaxed at the Tap Rock, enjoyed some great food and watch the speed boats come in and then a celebration in Riddle for the fireworks. We had fun and I'm glad they were able to stay with us. I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th!!

Shane and I took some long over due time off work and traveled to Portland to see my family and then down to Lincoln City with his family. His parents and his Sister Heather and her family traveled from Utah and his sister Lisa and her two girls traveled from Washington. We were excited to see everyone. Family night at the ball park, visit with my best friend Paige, shopping, sand castle building, visiting my favorite candy shop which was closed, but we did find another one, few, had to get my yummy seafoam, and then a beautiful drive to and home from Lincoln City. I was also excited to show Shane and his family one of my favorite beach towns. We had such a good time and as always sad to pack up and come home. It's never fun to return back to work and get back into the swing of things, but we all traveled safely home and yes we are slowly but surely getting back to the same old routine.

I don't think Jack is to happy here, what do you think?

Trees of Mystery

First of all I have to tell you about my sweet velcro shoes. Just as Shane and I were setting up camp I realized I forgot my shoes and only had flip flops for the hike the next day. In a panic at 7PM I jumped in the car and drove to Cresent City to get some shoes. And of course this is what I ended up with. Can't be picky when I am in the middle of the Redwoods. I was just happy to have shoes. Anyways The Bonella's took a weekend get away over Memorial weekend to Millcreek campground in the Redwood National Forest. Can I just say I love Trees!! They are so awesome and huge!! We spent the day at the Trees of Mystery and then a short drive through the "Drive Through Tree" (Rip off $5.00) But it was cool anyways to say we drove through a tree. It's been a long awaited trip to get back to the Redwoods. This was a Holwege favorite growing up and since Shane has never been it was nice to relax, hike, and visit with Paul and Babe. The hike was fun and interesting and then a scary tram ride up the mountain above the trees. If you are ever close don't miss out on the Trees of Mystery that was totally worth it.

A Day at the Oregon Coast

Shane and I took Jack to the Oregon Coast one weekend. It was a beautiful day. We stopped and had a picnic and then drove closer down to the beach to relax and Jack played in the sand. Jack enjoyed his day, he ran, jumped, played and then got caught up in a sneaker wave. Me, Shane & Jack were out in the water just walking around. The water was ankel deep then all of a sudden it was waist deep. I at first was worried about my new pants then looked over at Jack and the poor little guy was struggling to swim back to shore and stay above water. I think he was in shock for a moment, but after he dried of he was back to playing and enjoying the beach again. What a nice day at the Oregon Coast.

Today I was on my way home for lunch and saw a man and his dog standing on the corner holding a sign that said, homeless, hungry and disabled. It was a large sign and very colorful too. Most of the time when I see these people begging for money I feel that are out there to get rich and have all they need back home in there nice large mansion along with there sports cars and other laberish toys, but today when I saw this man and his dog I had a feeling that this man was really in need. Then I had a thought to go home and put some items in a bag and take back to him. I went home and found a reusable shopping bag and filled it with a tooth brush, toothpaste, hand whipes, clean socks (thank you Shane for giving away your newly purcased socks), a blanket, homemade cookies, package of applesauce, big bag of unopened chips, dog food (for the dog of course, thank you Jack) 3 dollar bills and I made him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Then I headed back to the corner he was standing on, rolled down my window and he came right over. I handed him the bag and he reached in and said, thank you very much mam and I said, you are welcome. As I drove away I had a good feeling in my heart. It wasn't much, but I hope that others saw this man receive something and think that they to can help where needed.

Shane and I were in Portland this weekend for Easter. It was nice to be able to enjoy the day with family, Easter treats and wonderful talks from General Conference. What a special day to have both Eater and Conference on the same day. The kids were fun and also it was Jack's first Easter so he had fun as well playing with the kids and eating his Easter treats.

Oh, birthdays are not the same as they used to be when I was a kid. Most memorible birthday when I was a kid was my 6th birthday. I invited 5 friends and we celebrated at the Organ Grinder in Portland. http://www.pstos.org/instruments/or/portland/organ-grinder.htm Time sure flies, but even though I am getting older I still try to celebrate some how. This year Shane fixed his famous meet loaf and brought home a Dairy Queen ice cream cake. Yummy! It was a good day, but also a sad day. This years birthday I will always remember because it was the day I heard my favorite teen idol crush passed away from a drug overdose. You will always be in my heart Corey Haim. He is remembered for movies like Silver Bullet, Lucus and License To Drive. And I cannot forget the ever so famous magizine Teen Beat! Happy Birthday to Me and Happy Celebration of Life Corey Haim.

Three years ago today I married the boy from my dreams. I can't belive 3 years, I know some of you are like 3 years try 10, 15 or 30. Before I know it Shane and I will be hitting our 30th. Happy Holidays 2009

Shane and I had a wonderful Christmas just the two of us here in Grants Pass. Shane had to work in the afternoon on Christmas and I was all by my lonesome doing nothing. The day after Christmas we drove to Portland to be with my family and that night we made it into town just in time to meet my siblings at Red Robbin and gather with old friends. We went to my cousins baby blessing on Sunday and then a family dinner at my brothers home that evening. It was fun seeing the kids and seeing how much they have grown. My sister Nichol and I hit the sales on Monday and then Shane and I drove back home Tuesday afternoon. It's always so sad when the holidays are over, but then I think about next year and it gives me something to look forward to. My house was torn apart last Saturday putting away Christmas, well actually it's still torn apart. Little by little and back to reality.

I love the holidays. This my most favorite time of year. Christmas music, candy, goodies, family gatherings, gift giving and most of all the true meaning of christmas, the birth of our savior. When I was a kid I would make one of those green and red paper chains and hang it from the ceiling of my room and count down to christmas day. I remember times of laying in bed on Christmas eve waiting to see if I can hear the sound of Santas reindeer. I always had this feeling that I couldn't wait and wanted it to be Christmas morning so bad. I'm very naustalgic and love thinking back to when I was a kid at Christmas. Don't tell anyone, but I still believe in Santa. I'm all about Christmas triditions and even though I am sad Shane and I won't be with family on Christmas this year I am excited to start triditions of our own. We will drive to Portland the day after christmas to be with my family. I'm excited to see the kids and the excitment on their faces.

Drive In Movie Night

My sister-in-law gave me this really great idea for a primary activity. We had a drive in movie night. We turned the stage into a movie theater, rented a popcorn machine, had tons of candy and the kids made cars out of card board boxes. It was a hit and we all had fun watching Walace and Gromit.

The skinner Days

So I'm sure you all have noticed I have gained a lot of weight. I look at myself in the merrior and I see the same person, but wow when I see a picture of myself I can clearly see I have gain more weight then I thought. It's been a struggle for me. All my life I have been a bigger then average girl. I've had my moments when I have lost a few and felt great! It's been a hard road and a bigger struggle ever sence Shane and I have been trying to have a baby. Every medication and perscription adds a few pounds and it doesn't help that I turn into this beast when I'm on them and want to either punch anyone in sight or eat everything including kitchen table. Well, I've decided the meds haven't done the trick to make my body be normal and do what it needs to to have a baby. When Shanes parents were here a few weeks ago is when I really noticed I have added the pounds, so I have decided to eat better, exercise and just have a better, clearer mind about loosing weight the right way. This week was week one and I feel like I did a great job. It's the beginning of a diet I hate, it always takes a while to get into the groove, so that's way this time I am not going on a diet. I am just eating healthier and exercising and again haveing a clear mindset. I feel great and this is something I need to do for myself and I know if I were to loose the weight I will feel so much better about myself and will hopefully get my waist back. And this is something I need to do for my health as well, but don't expect to see me as a size 8 that will never happen, but a healthy 12 or 14 will make me more then happy.

Cycle Oregon

Shane and I went down to the Rouge tonight to catch up with my Uncle Paul. He is riding with Cycle Oregon this week and had a couple days stay in Grants Pass. It was exciting to meet up with him and get the low down and history of Cycle Oregon. Wish I was in shape to be able to do something like that, but I think I would kill over in the first hour. Addi's blanket hat

Over the weekend Paige and Dave Hirschi and their two kids were in town visiting. We had so much fun playing games, talking, eating, visiting the scary town of Applegate I"M GLAD WE GOT OUT ALIVE! playing with the kids and feeding the ducks. Shane and I were so glad they came to visit and wished they could have stayed longer. Paige and I go way back to the days of our family hanging out together. Camping, Sunriver, Thanksgiving, New Years, Sunday desserts and Red Robbin Mondays. I'm so glad Paige and I have stayed close specially now that we are married and live far apart we always try to keep intouch somehow. Their kids are so cute and it was fun to entertain them and get to know them better. It was nice to wake up in the morning to a hellooo from Eddie and a cooking show from Addi May at Dinner time.

Paige, thank you for coming and I hope you guys injoyed your stay. It was fun to cath up and talk about the memories. Thanks for the laughs, the yummy food and thanks Dave for the game. I'm not a huge fan of games but I really enjoyed Elfenland. Lets get together again soon.

Shanes parents and their doggy were in town last weekend. We had them with us from Friday night to Monday morning and I was sad when they left. Trip to Portland

Mid July Shane and I drove home for the weekend. Shane had a two day conference for work so I took the day off from work and went along. While I was home I went and saw Julie Brallier and had my hair done. I love it so much she did a great job! It was also Ella's birthday so it was good to make it home for someone's big day.

Today I received a new calling in my ward. I was called as the Primary President. WOW!! I know, thats what I said. When the bishop called me I was like, president!, president!, president!.

Today I visited the primary and observed and met some of the little kids. I am so excited to work in the primary and get to know all of the little children and my counselors better. If anyone has any ideas they would like to share that would be great specially when it comes to the primary program coming up this fall and ideas for fun activities. The last time I was in primary I was 9 or 10.

I just have to share the fun time I had with my neice Sydney over the weekend. This cute little girl and I share a special bond. When she was a baby I used to watch her every Saturday Morning for almost a year until Aaron and Angie moved back to Oregon. I have missed the fun special moments with her. Now that Shane and I are in Oregon I get to see her more often then I did when I was in Utah. We had Sydney sleep in our tent over the weekend when we were camping. The first night she complained that Shane and I snored to loud and she couldn't sleep. The next night I told her I would tell her some bedtime stories. We stayed up laughing and telling stories. I told the "GOt you Where I wAnt you Now I'M Going to Eat you" story at the end she wanted me to tell the story again and change the animal. SO I change the monkey to an Elephant, she started laughing so much and said, Elephants don't have fingers to pick ther nose they only have a nose with two holes to drink with. I was laughing so hard It was so cute and her laugh was sweet. At night she would suck her thumb. I found myself wide awake because of the noise she made when sucking her thumb so I guess were even now. Sydney, I don't know if you will ever see this but I want you to know I love you and I'm so glad you are my neice. Thanks for the laughs.

Shane and I met my family less then and hour north of here for the forth of July. We camped out at Stanton Park and then went into the town of Riddle for some amazing fireworks on the 4th. When I was a kid my family discovered this small little town coming back from a vacation in California. We were driving along at night, my parents were tired so we stopped. The next morning the camp host told us about the firework show in town so we decided to stay another night. We loved it so much we went back the next year. It's now been 24 years later and we thought it would be fun to go back this year and see if Riddle was still living up to it's expectations of a great firework show. It was AMAZING!! We had a great spot in the park and the fireworks were right over our heads. I don't think I have seen a firework show like this sience the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. We all had a fun time camping, swimming and baking in the sun. HOT! Hot! Hot! We were all there except for Nate & Stephanie, Becca and Jared and Nichol. Our friend Dave joined in on the fun as well. I hope next year we can plan to go again and have the whole family there.

First Camping Trip of the Summer

I love camping!! Shane and I took our first camping trip of the summer 2 weeks ago. We packed up and headed off to Crescent City, California. It was so beautiful. THE GREAT OUTDOORS a nice piece of heaven. We met up with our friends Tammy and her two kids at the beach and enjoyed ourselves building sand castles, searching for sand dollars and looking at the many scatters parts of carb carcisis. I had a good time chatting with Tammy while Shane beached it in the sand and got a dosy of a sunburn. Tammy's kids Else and Joe were fun to watch and it was good meeting them and getting to know them a little more.

My parents were in town for the holiday weekend. Shane and I had such a blast having them here. My parents arrived Friday night, we went out to dinner and enjoyed the local Mexican joint down the road. Saturday we went and checked out the flea market and the trading post down town and the later walked along the rogue river, watch the last of the praide and then had a nice lunch at the "Top Rock" a new restaurant down town. Sunday we took a drive to the Oregon caves and caught a sneak peak of the caves entrance, walked around in the gift shop and snapped a few pictures. While we were up there I could smell a yummy camp fire and it made me crave a rosted hot dog so we left the caves, drove home and had a BBQ for dinner. Thanks mom and dad we had fun sitting around telling stories and laughing. Come back soon!!

Our first Lawn Mower

Hurray!! Shane and I purchased our very first lawn mower yesterday. We are so excited!! Our new grass that we laid several weeks ago was getting so long and it was bugging me that we had getto grass. This lawn mower is perfect for the size of yard we have. Sears was having a sale and so we thought we would take advantage of that and also I would like to mention we are also the proud owners of a washer and dryer. No more laundry mats. Blah!! I hate going to the laundry mat and also the amount of money we were spending each week to wash clothes was crazy. This will help us save money and our clothes from getting damaged. So it's been hard living in a new place and the hardest part is finding a job. I really thought before we moved here that I would find something the first week I was here. Moving during these hard times probably wasn't the smartest idea. I had a really good job I left behind in Loagn, Utah. I was the Senior Team Lead over the data entry dept at Conservice and suprvised about 20 employees. I really learned alot from my supervisor and the owner of the company and other great people I had the opportunity to know. I created a team and help the dept grow from 5 emplyees to 35. I feel lucky to have been apart of that. I had many wonderful experiences working for conservice and I was sad to go. Right now after 3 months of not having a job and the stress I have felt these last several weeks has made me really think about what I had with my employment there and makes me realize how much I miss it and the friends I made, but as I think about all of this I keep going back to my initial feeling when Shane was first offered this job and the feeling just feels right. I knew then and I still know that Shane and I are supposed to be here. I don't really know if we will ever find out why we are supposed to be here, but it feels right. I think about his job and the great opportunity it is for him to start his profession, our new ward seems really fun and we have gotton to know people and have made a few friends. In our last ward in Logan we had a hard time meeting people and getting involved. Shane just received a new calling as a the 2nd counselor in the Elders Quorum which is awesome going from working in the nursery to the Elders Quorum. As stressful as these last few weeks have been the one thing that gets me through is knwoing we are here for a reason. I have faith and I know everything will work out for us here. One last think I would like to mention is my new job at Bath and Body Works. It's just a part itme job but it's a start for now and I am so greatful.

Lately Shane and I have been able to be in the company of good friends. Last weekend we hung out with David and Becky Brallier. We shared some laughs, pizza and played some games. Today we were able to meet up with a long time friend of mine Tammy and her husband Joe at the Medford Temple. After we wondered around Coscto and then over to Olive Garden for some yummy food. It was so good to see her and also beable to get to know Joe better.

This year my goal is to have every decoration in my backyard be home made. It's in celebration of the Bonella's first summer of having a backyard. I know I get really excited over small things. So the first two items were the chair and birdhouse my dad made. I added a pillow to the chair and today I made some really cute flower cans. I also had this old window I have been hauling around everytime I move and I have never done anything with it. So instead of collecting dust in our garage this summer I thought it would make a nice touch to our yard. Shane and I went to Portland for the weekend and it was alot of fun to be home. We went to Haydens T-ball game, dinner with my parnets, scary movie which I had to walk away from and yummy pizza and lots of laughs with David and Becky Brallier. Sunday we hadn a great meal with the family and later a easter egg hunt with the kids. It was a fun weekend but a long trip back to Grants Pass in the poring down rain. AHHH, finially the GREEN has arrived. Shane and I roll up our sleeves and rolled out the sod in our happy tiny but cute back yard. When we moved in the yard was full of weeds and the ground was uneven I wish I had a picture to show, but we have been working hard, pulling weeds, evening out the ground and digging up the dirt in place of a rollatiller. The sod arrived early at 8:30am and took about 2 and half hours to lay. We are so happy and hope we can keep it looking nicely cut and green. :)

Worst Hair cut experience

So it's been a while sense I've had my hair cut professionaly. It was like a week or two after I got married I was tired of my long hair so I cute it off and made the forst mistake by going to the Dollar Cuts. Then I had this dumb idea that I could cut and color it myself and save money. Well now two years later it was time to have it professionaly cut. so I found this cute salon not to far from here and had my hair highlighted and cut. The color turned out ok, but the cut was horrible. The hair styleist took a razer and went around my head and called it good. I know she was in a hurry because her next client was coming in, but I would have been happy to come back later. Because I was wanting to be the nice customer I didn't say a word. SO I came home and tried to style it and it was aweful. I started to cry and yell and was so mad. I got in the car and drove around until I found another salon. This stylist was nice and she could totaly see how bad it was. She only charge me half price, but I still wasn't happy. As least she cut it with sissors and made my hair healthly again, but I have learned my lesson for trusting someone new. the next time I get my hair done I'm going to someone I trust.

We have a cherry tree in our front yard and it was starting to bloom the other day so I cut a few branches and brought them into the house and put them in a vase. After a day or two it bloomed like crazy. It was so beautiful.

My dad is a such a studly handlyman. He works great with his hands, has creative mind and anything he builds is awesome. My dad made this adirondack chair for mine and Shanes birthdays. Were so excited to have our first patio furniture and it looks great on the patio. We stained it a cherryish color followed by a finished urithain clear matte finish. Thanks dad we love our chair.

Day trip to the California and Oregon Coast

What a beautiful rainy day at the coast. Shane and I took a day trip to the coast today. We went into Cresent City, California, Brookings and Gold Beach, Oregon. We also hit a small patch of the Redwoods so pretty I have missed the trees so much. Now I'm aching to get to the Redwood Forest. It was a long day of being in the car, nasty subway sandwiches and curve headachs, but it was a good day being at the coast with my hunny. We ended a good day with a trip to the grocery store yippy!!

Well, Shane and I are finally settled in our new home after a long 3 weeks apart. My dad and my sister Nichol drove into Logan last Thursday night to help with the moving and my awesome dad flew in to help me drive the truck back. Friday my cousins Anna and Chad and our good friends Chuck and Cami join in on all the fun times in helping me move our stuff. After a long morning of packing the truck my dad and I drove out of Logan about 2:00 in the afternoon. With a long drive a head of us I tried not to think about it and just tried to relax and enjoy the drive and reminess of my life in Utah. As we were about an hour from Boise the truck started to make a funny noise so my dad pulled over and I called road side assistance. After an hour wait for the tow truck to arrive I began to cry thinking I did not want to pack another truck if there was somethign wrong with this one. Good news from the tow truck man that the truck was fine so my dad an I continued on with our drive. A big snow storm started to hit just as we approached Ontario. The roads were packed with snow, pitch black and it wasn't easy for my dad driving a 24 foot uhal and towing my car behind. I got worried and so did my dad. We kept going driving really slow and I think I said about 50 prayers on our way to Baker City. I just kept thinking we can make it to Baker and then stay there for the night. I was stressed and I know my dad was also. It was hard and scary being on the road late at night driving through a snow storm and did I mention crapy windsheld wipers. But my dad had good sprits and got us to Baker safely. Both my dad and I need a rest becasue the next day I think we both felt so much better and the roads were clear the rest of the way from Baker City. We arrived to Grants Pass Saturday evening around 7:15pm and I was so glad to be there. Shane and my mom were waiting on the corner to guide us in. First thing Shane jumped up on the truck and gave me a big kiss. Boy did I need that. My sister Rebecca and her husband Jared were there to help. We got the truck unloaded and our things unpacked. Shane and I like our new apartment and it's nice to have more room. We have 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms. Our kitchen is bigger and we have a garage. Yahoo! We also have a back patio. It's weird being back in Oregon, but it also feels good. I just want to take a moment and thank those that made this move possible. Shout out first to my husband for all of his hard work and for giving this new job a shot. I love you so much and I'm so happy to be back with you I hated being apart for 3 weeks BLAH!!. Thankyou to my sister for driving in from Spanish Fork and for picking our dad up fromt he airport and bringing him to Logan. Thank you for my cousin Anna and her husnad Chad for all of there help and friendship Shane and I will miss you. A thank you to our good friends Chuck and Cami, we appreciate all ofyour hard work and thanks for putting up with my brattiness and stressful attitude. We appreciate you and your friendships. Thank you to Shanes parents Harold and Kathy for all of your support, love, and for lettign me take your son to Oregon. We love you both very much. Thank you to my monther for driving the 4 and half hours to Grants Pass to help and for making dinner. We appreciate everythign you and Dad do for us. Thank you Becca and Jared for all of your help. It's nice knowing I have such a wonderful family that is always willing to help and your kids are cute. Saving the best for last a big THANK YOU to my father for organizing and packing the truck. Thank you for the time you spent getting everythign just right. Thank you for driving the truck thorugh a snow storm and for being ther for me when I was stressed, crying and need that extra encouragement that everything is going to be ok. Your time means so much to me and I really appreciate you being there and helping with the move. He got the job!!

An hour after we pulled into Logan from our hellish trip Shane received a phone call offering him the job. At that point we both wanted to say NO, but after a long weekend of stress, making a decison and trying to make this move work we have decided to move. Shane excepted the job today. Shane will be qutting his job on the 23rd and heading to Oregon on the 24th. I will be staying behind and continue to work for 3 more weeks, pack up the house, truck and drive to Oregon on the 13th of February. My last day at work is the 12th of February. I'm sad to leave my job and this wonderful town, but I am so happy for Shane and proud of his accomplishments. We will be living in Grants Pass, Oregon and Shane will be working for Southern Oregon Adolescent Study and Treatment Center as a Mental Health Counselor. Were so excited to be in Oregon and I'm excited to be a little closer to my family for a while. We will eventually move back to Logan, but for now will enjoy the beautiful green trees in Oregon.

1st adventure of 2009

For a while now Shane has been applying for different jobs andkeeping our fingers crossed for an interview. Now that he's graduated he has been working on getting his intern license and sense Oregon looked more promising with jobs we decided to consintrate on applying there. Well, the call finailly came and nervous about how and when we would get to Oregon for the interview we found ourselves leaving quickly last Friday night in the middle of a snow storm. I will admit I was a little crazy for packing the car and getting us on the road so we could be to Oregon by Saturday afteroon, spend time with my family part of Saturday and Sunday and then the interview on Monday, back on the road that night and to work on Tuesday. Well, our plans didn't go as smoothly as we thought it would. We arrived to Portland fine just a little bit of snow coming over the blues. We spent the night in Boise Friday night and arrived safely to my parents Saturday around 4pm. Monday the interview went great and I fell in live with the area. Beautiful drive and it felt great. Monday we headed back to Utah and decided to take a.... well, I guess what you would call a back road home. BAD IDEA!! specially during the winter. We cut up over into Klameth Falls and into Lakeview. (never heard of it and thats bad for being from Oregon) 7pm at night driving on a thick sheet of ice and in the middle of no where. I got scared and emagined us getting stuck for days and barried in the snow. So Shane and I decided to turn around and drive the hour and half back to klameth Falls. We spent the night and the next day headed for Portland to catch the I-84 back to Utah. We hit a couple more road blocks on our way back. Snow and ice in LaGrande, a reck going through the canyon into Lime. Dead stop for 10 min on the interstate and then backed up traffic for an hour and did I mention ICE!! We made it to Ontario and spant another night. The next day we were off and just as we hit the Idaho border the roads were clear all the way home. Well, a fast trip that was supposed to be 1 day off from work turned into 3 days off from work and I think I said it a thousand times I'm not going anywhere for a really long time specially to Oregon. WELL GUESS WHAT?

So, what do you think? Hot mama or what? For the last two years our friends have had a themed Rock Band Party. Last year was 80's this year was 90's grunge. Me of course totally spacing the grunge part of it all was thinking just 90's so I thought of my old hair style in high school and thought I'd try to re-in-vent the due. Do I look the same? Yeah, right not even close, well maybe the hair but the face no way. (Old and chubby) But we had a good time and were almost a sleep before mid night now thats a sign of old age.

Christmas in St. George

Shane and I spent the holidays with his family in St. George. We were able to see his sister and her daughters that came in from out of town. Christmas night a big storm came through town making the power go out. I was hoping for snow but the power going out seem to be alot more fun. We lit some candles and played a couple games in the dark. Once the power came back on we kept the lights out and played a couple rounds of murder. Christmas was really fun and even though it was hard being away from my family for the holidays the Bonellas always make everything nice and seem like christmas. I completed my 2 month CERT class. Yahoo!. For the last two months I have been taking a class sponsored by the Cache County Sheriff's Office called, Cert (Community Emergency Response Team). I completed my final on thursday the 30th and I was so scared. We had a mock desaster with live victims. I was on the medical team and had to take care of the victims as they were brought out by the other team members. It was crazy, but I think I did a great job. At one point someone said I should have been team medical leader and that made me feel good knowing I did something right. I received my certificate and now if there is a desaster I'm ready. Well, almost ready.

What a fun holiday and your never to old to dress up. Shane and I dressed up for work and Shane won 2nd place. I was a witch and Shane was Uncle Fester. I shot some photos of some of my co-workers and also a group photo. After work Shane and I went over to Chuck and Cami's house to hang out. Chuck usually plays a movie on his garage door for the tick or treaters. It was fun to sit around and see all the kids dressed up. It was a long day and even a longer night washing my hair. So when I met Shane I knew on our first date that he and I were ment to be and sense then I still know we were always ment to be. Today Shane was home sick, poor guy been working all week sick so finially he took a day off to rest. Well, I think he was feeling a little better when he called me today at work to tell me how his day went. I asked what he had been up to and he told me he was working on some stuff for his game. Now for those of you that know Shane know one of his hobbies is playing roll playing games. These games are not your average board game, they go way beyond any board game like Clue or Shoots and Ladders. These game are high tech with a story line, bad guys, good guys and weapons. Shane also has a talent I'd say maybe a hidden talent. Most peopele would think hey thats cool. On our second date I saw his hidden talent and thought, awesome he's into arts and crafts! Shane is amazing at painting what he calls "Figs"(little men for the games). When I came home today his little mess was all over the coffee table and it made me smile and I thought to myself he is just like me, who else would think of something as creative as this. Currently he is working on a game and creating bad guys that have michines for arms. So he pulled out some old game stuff from closet and cut of the arms of one set and is now in the process of creating the ultimate bad guys. Shane is so creative and we are so alike. I love my husband and moments like these that make me smile.

House Update

We decided not to buy the house even though I was in love with it. We got to thinking about if know we might have to move why are we buying a house. We didn't want to be stuck in a house trying to sell it. Were going to wait and see where we will end up and find another home we like. My advice to you when buying a house don't fall in love with the house until you move in my heart was broken, but I'm ok now.

Sleeping Great!!

Shane and I went yesterday and bought ourselves a wedding gift. When we got married we were a little short our first month and had to use our wedding cash on bills. Now after a year and a half we fianlly went and purchase a gift. We bought a KING mattress set and new bedding. With two big people a queen does not have much room. We are so excited to get our new bed this week. Our bed is now big enough for us and our seven children and we now have an extra bed for company. Update: do not buy bedding from Bed Bath and Beyond. Their quilt sizes are all messed up. We had to take ours back because it didn't fit the bed. Which was ok because I wasn't thrilled about this bedding anyways. We put our old quilt on the bed and it looks great. The bed is wonderful. Shane is still adjusting, he says he feels like he is sleeping in a hole I think it's the memory foam he has to get used to.

I'm going on a house hunt and looking for a blueish green house with white trim. WOW, look I found one! This is the house Shane and I are currently looking at. It's so cute. 2 br, 1 bath a great starter home. It has a nice big back yard with a river running through. The original hardware on the door's and stained glass windows. This is so our style.

Shane and I drove the long 12 hours home to Portland a couple of weeks ago for Labor Day to see my new nephew Cade and hang with the family. Ryan and Jessie were out of town so it was a bummer not to see them. Most of the family was together and Nichol flew in for a few days a well.

It's hard renting and not being able to paint. I was getting bored of looking at our boring white, ugly, dirty walls in our bathroom so I ask my land lord if we could paint and he said YES!! I was so excited!! I painted the molding white and the walls a nice antique lace. Magic!! What a difference a couple coats of paint makes. I love it so much I had to share. Our bathroom has a fishing theme. I found this cute shower curtin and pine cone shower curtin hooks on sale. What do you think?

4th of July Weekend

Happy 4th of July

Shane and I went to St. Charles, ID ( Bear Lake) where his sister Heather lives to celebrate the forth of July with his family. His sister Lisa came for Yakima, WA and his parents came form St. George. We were there 3 nights, made home made ice cream, camp out in the back yard and rode 4 wheelers and ski do's all weekend. It was alot of fun and it was nice to be with family for the holiday.

Swollen all over

I woke up Thursday morning with a swollen face, wrist, feet and ankles (I'll blame the belly on that too). I was blowing up like a balloon from all the walking, heat and salty junk food I ate. Shane and I went to Les Mes that night and I had a hard time walking I didn't know what was going on until I looked down at my feet. I have never seen them so fat before.

Disneyland

Yahoo, finially after 23 years I made it back to Disneyland. Me and Shane and his 2 nephews Benson & McKay left for Spanish Fork to stay the night last Friday with Nichol. Then on Saturday we left for St. George to meet up with his met up with his parents Kathy & Herold and his 2 neices Keylee & Megan. On Sundey we got up early and headed out to Californica. The drive across the dessert was so muggy and hot. On top of the air condictioning I had to keep a bottle of ice water under my shirt to keep me cool. We all made it Anihem around 6pm, went out to dinner at Red Robbin and prepared for our fun day at Disneyland. An early morning rise on Monday we took off for Disneyland. The park has changed so much sense I have been there. First thing the kids wanted to ride Splash mountin so we did that a couple times and my shoes got drentched so I walked in soacking wet shoes for a good part of the morning and into the afternoon. I think I was the one that got splashed the most. Shanes mom was in wheelchair so it made it nice for us and the kids to go and get right on the rides so we would'nt have to wait in the big long lines. After lunch Shane and I went over to California Adventure and went on a few rides there. I had never been so I wanted to check it out for a while. Later we met up with the rest of the crew and had dinner and rode on a few more rides. My favorite ride and the hit of the park was "Indiana Jones". The kids were cute and it was fun to see them excited. At one point we were all having so much fun and I think we were all on a Disneyland high, McKay, the littlest one in our group looked up at me and said, Amy I love so much I think I can marry you. I thought that was cute. We went to Knotts Berry Farm on Tuesday and then back to St. George on Wednesday. Our feet were sore, kids fighting, the heat and traffic, but it was all worth it going to the Happiest Place on Earth.

Things I love about my DAD...

1. His laugh. My dad has a great laugh and it's always fun to do funy things to make him chuckle.

2. Creative and artistic abilities. His craftsmen ship is like no other.

3. Great Navigatetor. My dad is a pro when it comes to fidning his way around Portland. There could be a major traffic jam down town and he always seems to know a back road home to beat the traffic.

4. His kindness and caring ways he is as a father now and growing up.

5. Wonderful hair brusher. When I was young I always loved it when he would brushed my hair. He would brush it for hours.

6. Respectful, patient and a good listener.

7. My dad and I love the same things, antique shops, garage sales, old artifacts, the great out doors, camping, hiking and the "Die Hard" movies.

8. Good husband. I love my parents relationship. The way he treats my mother with respect and is always there for her. He always wants to be with her even if it's a trip to the gerociery store. The qualities my dad has are the qualities I look for in a husband. ( I really found that too. Shane is so much like my dad.)

9. Hard worker. My dad is a hard worker. Digging holes for many years, getting dirty and laying water maines. He has worked so hard to support my mom and us 6 kids. He worked his way up the line and became the best supervisor and meter shop man that the city of Portland has ever known.

10. My dad is the best dad I ever had.

Logan Canyon

Shane and I went hiking today up Logan Canyon. We hiked a trail called Riverside. It's such a beautiful day out today, the sun is shineing, not to hot and a windy breeze of fresh air. We saw alot of snakes along the way and at one point ran into a rattler. It was funny how we were trying to be so sneaky running by this snake. I don't know anything about snakes specially rattlers. All I know is they have a rattler on there tails and can bite. It took us a few minutes to get the courage up and a head start to run past. When we were ready we quickly ran past it and the snake didn't move. We laugh now about how funny we probably looked. In one of the photo's you can see the wind cave across the river. Now were home, tired and Shane is sleeping.

Another Day at the Market

Anna and I had another successful day at the market. What a relaxing dat too. We sold most of our frames, jewelery, and note cards. We had alot of comments about our work and if one didn't purchase anything they took a business card and ask about orders for later. Anna and I would just laugh and say mmmm I think we sould start a business and make a website. So a website maybe coming soon. It was also nice to sit and watch people and enjoy the ourdoors. Power Tools

Shane and I purchased our first power tool this last weekend. We bought a drill!! I was tired of using a screw to make my holes and my hands were getting tired as well. Wow, what a difference a drill makes. I love it and find excuses to use it everynight. We also purchased this handy little accessories kit. Next on the list of power tools is a circular saw. Yeah, baby!!
