A Saturday drive through the Redwoods
We decided to take a day trip to Jed Smith located in the Redwoods about an hour towards the coast from our home. What a beautiful day to sit and relax on the Smith River. It's very exciting to have the Redwoods praticly in our back yard. After a swim in the river we cruised on down to Cresent City for some yummy Clam Chowder and a pit stop on the beach.

A Forever Family
A little windy for JackA Walk for the Cure
Saturday, June 23rd was Relay For Life and Shane and I joined in on the cure for cancer. We were on a team called "Change Agents" with 10 other people from work. For a few months now we have been raising money for the American Cancer Society. We had a booth at a VW car show back in April, a Garage sale in May as well as a few other things like selling Luminaria bags and personal donations. My personal donation amount was $395.00. I was pretty happy with that amount. A big thank you to those who made donations. The day/night of the Relay is one I will never forget. Shane and I sold fresh lemonade and walked the track from 10:15 pm to about 12:30 am. It was fun to hang out with friends and be a part of such a great cause. I'm excited to do this again next year.

Family Time
Shane and I were in Portland over Memorial weekend. We had a great time being with family. We had planned on staying in Grants Pass for the weekend, but Thursday monring I woke up and felt that we needed go home and see everyone. Shane and I both got Friday off and we left early Friday morning. My sister Nichol was in from Utah so it was fun to suprised her.
We all met at my dad's grave Saturday afternoon. It was a good moment for all of us and the kids were excited to be there. My father is missed dearly. I know he is close specially looking down on moments like these.

Relay For Life
Today some co-workers and I managed our Relay For Life booth. Some of the staff at work donated items to sell at our booth to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. We have arrange a team called, "Change Angents" and will be relaying on June 23rd and 24th. This is my first time being on a relay for life team, I wanted to dedicate some time to help try to raise money to support this cause and help those that are currently fighting, who have passed on and those that have won there battle with cancer. My father was a cancer fighter, he passed away December 2010 and will forever be in our memories. I love him so much and miss him everyday. He was a man with a creative mind, he was a hard working man, always coming up with something new. He loved working in the yard and creating a relaxing beautiful garden. I dedicate the flowers in the flower pots that I painted to my father and they represent his garden that he and my mom created in their back yard. Other items I made with material I have dedicated to friends and family who have fought there own battles with cancer. I made a few things like, zipper pouches, aprons and pot holders. If you would like to make a donation to Relay For Life go to my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/#!/amy.bonella.

A Bonella Update
A lot has happened in the last 3 months. Here's a recap of what has been happening with the Bonella's. Shane received his license for the state of Oregon. He is an official licensed Mental Health Therapist and along with being official he also started a new job with Options of Southern Oregon. He is now working with adults in the outpatient unit. He has really enjoyed the last 3 months and he says it's a nice change from working in residential with the youth. He misses the youth, but having less stress on the job is all worth the change. I'm proud of his accomplishments and for continuing on even when life gets ruff. End of January my mom got married to a man she met shortly after my dad passed. He is a nice man, his name is Ron. This past year has been hard adjusting to change in our family, but seeing my mom happy and keeping busy makes me happy knowing she is not alone. It will take some time to heal but sometimes change helps a person move forward, I know this is what my dad would want my mom to do. End of January we had a new addition to the Ryan Holwege family, Jonah Todd Holwege. He is the cutest little thing, his smile melts your heart. Oh, how I would love to have a little one just like him. In February Shane and I put an offer on a house here in Grants Pass. We decided since Shane has started a new job we will probably be here for a while and felt it was time to make that big purchase. A little scary, but we feel this house is the right one for us. It's a short sale, so we are playing the waiting game right now. Will keep you posted. Early March Shane and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary, we celebrated with yummy food from the Roadhouse in Medford, did a little shopping and had a relaxing afternoon. It's crazy how fast 5 years went. At the end of March Shane turned the big 40. We invited some friends over, played games and munched on a few goodies (added a few pounds in the process). Another addition to the Holwege family entered the world last evening, my brother Nathan and his wife Stephanie gave birth to the smallest miracle, 3 pounds 6 oz little boy. He is so cute and it'samazing how fragile and small they really can be. I know babies are born even smaller, but to have it hit so close to home makes you really think that life is just a miracle all on it's own and how wonderful it really is. And last but not least I had to share my Jack. He's due for a haircut, but a good bath, dry and brush makes him all nice and fluffy. Can't you just squeeze him? Well, that's it. Thanks for stopping by and getting an update form the Bonella's.
